Do Silicone Breast Implants Cause Connective Tissue Disorder?

Since back in 1991, the debate about the relationship of silicon to connective tissue disorders has been a heated one. As far back as 1964 there were tests done with the direct injection of silicon into the breast's tissue which came up with a bunch of different possible disorders and even some that do not even fit the criteria needed to be considered a connective tissue disorder.

But it was in 1991 when a grand jury decided that a patient had in fact contracted a mix of connective tissue disorders as a direct result of the breast augmentation. Immediately following this decision, the FDA as well as many other authorities began immediate testing to determine if the jury was correct. To determine whether or not gelatinous silicon can cause connective tissue disorders.

By 1994, without any true evidence other than a winning court decision, a mass hysteria led to several lawsuits against the makers of the silicon breast implants. This then led into the manufacturers to have to create their own relief fund just to counter these lawsuits but it was to no avail, the number one manufacturer of silicon breast implants filed a Chapter 11 bankruptcy soon after. Later that year, the Britain Department of Health had found that there were no links between the silicon and connective tissue disorders.

To this day there has been no reported substantial scientific proof that the silicon gel found in many breast implants can cause any form of connective tissue disorders. The only results that were in any way conclusive were the relationship between the silicon and the body's lymph nodes. Unfortunately, the issues surrounding the growth of lymph nodes as a result of exposure to the silicon was found to not be an immediate threat to health since in most cases these swollen lymph nodes can be removed. However, should the lymph node on the lungs swell, removal is considered to be impossible.

Many people's body have no problems with the absorption of silicon due to the fact that it is already a mineral readily found in our bodies. We consume it in our foods and drinks without much of an issue. In some people though, the excessive absorption of silicon can create issues much like the excessive ingestion of almost any mineral. Some people can handle higher levels of one mineral and almost none of another while the person next to them may be able to handle the levels of minerals in a completely different manner.

Plastic Surgery Financing - Cosmetic Surgery Loans

Many people have dreamed of undergoing the knife and receiving a plastic surgery procedure. But like many dreams, it is left there floating in the back of the mind because of the belief that it is just way too expensive to undergo. People will save up their money for many years just hoping that someday they will be able to afford the surgery. It is because of this dream that there are now many financial institutions who are willing to finance your procedure.

Now that it is possible for almost anyone to have their dream procedure accomplished there is no longer a need to put off your surgery any longer. Whether you have a good credit rating or a bad one, you can still find reputable lender who are willing to offer you one of these cosmetic surgery loans

One must realize that these are unsecured loans since it is not possible to repossess ones face or implants. When it comes to plastic surgery financing your credit rating ultimately determines your interest rate. While a person with good credit can walk away with a $25,000 cosmetic surgery loan at 9.9%, a person with bad credit can get the same loan at 24.9%.

You can avail various plans which include 1 to 7 years to pay and can even get deferred payments allowing 90 or even 180 days. Just like with any type of loan, too many people worry that they just will not qualify for the loan and ultimately decide not to even apply. But if you are so afraid that you do not apply, then it would not hurt if you applied and got rejected. The point is that a higher percentage of people are qualified for a cosmetic surgery loan then a car loan.

Do not let fear of rejection overwhelm your possibilities for better health both physically and mentally. It is worth it to make yourself look better. Your self esteem will improve and those around you will see the increased confidence. Maybe your boss will notice it and give you a raise. Confidence is important in life and it is effected by your emotional well being. To remedy it though you will have to take the first step blindly and apply for a cosmetic surgery loan.
